Workshop #1 Creative Dramatics – Where All Theatre Begins
Let’s play some games!! Did you know that children (and adults) learn better and more deeply when they are having fun in the process? In this non-competitive, process-oriented class the children will explore the building blocks of theatre allowing them to create a strong foundation. Students will be exposed to fun activities that enhance social skills, active listening and problem solving as well as developing their imaginations, self-confidence, and communication skills using dramatic play, theatre games, story enactment, and beginning improvisation
Workshop #2 Magical Voice & Movement
Have you ever painted a room with your voice or created a machine with your body? That is what we’re going to do in Magical Voice and Movement. Knowing that the body and voice are the tools of the actor, our teaching artists will lead the students through creative exercises and games encouraging the students to use their bodies, voices and imaginations to create people, places and things.
Workshop #3 – How Does Your Story Start?
Who will you be? What will you do? Using the theatre practices we’re learning in our Creative Dramatics and Magical Voice & Movement Workshops, our students will utilize their imaginations, creative flair and decision-making skills as they answer the questions necessary to create a character and bring him/her to life.

Students will be exposed to fun activities that promote spontaneity and artistic growth while continuing to nurture and enhance their social skills, active listening and problem-solving abilities. Class exercises work to further develop the child’s imaginations, self-confidence and communication skills.
Workshop #2 Magical Voice & Movement – Once Upon a Time
What is your favorite story? Using literature, fairy tales and fables as a spring board, students will use their bodies and voices to recreate the classics, This workshop will enhance creative expression and seld-esteem as the students have fun exploring their physical and vocal potential.
Workshop #3 – Who Am I This Time?
In the previous class students answered the questions necessary to create well-rounded, believable characters. In this session they will take the next step in character development. Working in groups, as if in a cast, they will create new characters, develop group dynamics and explore trust issues by using beginning improvisation and creative problem-solving in the development of actual scenes.
